Filmtheater Fraterhuis in Zwolle is celebrating the summer season with outdoor film screenings at the atmospheric Celeplein. During two weekends in the month of August, audiences can enjoy special films under the starry sky as darkness falls.
Medialoc’s offline player from the MediaContainer will be used to securely showcase films without the need for a DCP projector. This innovative approach leverages the streaming technology of the MediaContainer, eliminating the requirement for an internet connection. The development of the offline player has been made possible, in part, thanks to the support from the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
On Friday, August 4th, and Saturday, August 5th, the Danish film “Rose,” directed by Niels Arden Oplev, will be screened. On Friday, August 18th, and Saturday, August 19th, the British film “Living,” directed by Oliver Hermanus and featuring acclaimed actor Bill Nighy, will be showcased.
Filmtheater Fraterhuis proudly becomes the first cinema in the Netherlands to utilize the offline player in this manner. With hopes for favorable summer weather, the audience can relish the opportunity to enjoy these splendid films at Filmtheater Fraterhuis, set against ideal conditions under the open skies.
